The following events take place in celebration of Black History Month in 2023:
- Feb. 7, 5-6:30 p.m., Compassionate Conversations: In observance of Black History Month the Office of Community Engagement & Health Equity is hosting a Compassionate Conversation on environmental justice. Elena Craft, Ph.D., Associate Vice President of Climate and Health at Environmental Defense Fund will present, "The Climate Vulnerability Index: A New Tool to Identify Climate Vulnerable Communities across the U.S." on Tuesday, Feb. 7 from 5-6:30 p.m.
- Feb. 22, 12-1 p.m., Poetry Reading: In celebration of Black History Month, the Office of Community Engagement & Health Equity is hosting a live virtual poetry reading on Feb. 22 from 12-1 p.m. If you are interested in reading a poem, prose or other piece, please email Dr. Kimberly Kay Lopez, KL2@bcm.edu. Feel free to select your favorite writer or share your own work.
- Feb. 25, 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Mental Health Awareness and Mental health Career Path Discussion: Sponsored by the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Ïã¸Û6ºÏ¿ª½±½á¹û is hosting a community discussion at Smith Neighborhood Library on Feb. 25 from 10:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP and email John Saunders at John.Saunders@bcm.edu by Feb. 21, 2023.
