This award promotes stable research careers for outstanding clinician-scientists by supporting their continued leadership in developing and implementing NCI clinical trials and contributing to national NCI trial networks, including participation in review and monitoring committees, without serving as principal investigators of research grants.

The full NOFO will likely be published in late summer 2024, with applications due on November 5, 2024. As this is a limited submission, the DLDCCC will conduct an internal review to select candidates.

If interested, please upload a one-page letter of intent for the project and current NIH biosketch as a single PDF file to DLDCCC Proposal Submission Form by Monday Sept. 23, 2024. The letter of intent will be used by the DLDCCC appointed review panel to make a final decision on the nomination.

The DeGregorio Family Foundation (DFF) is issuing an RFA for up to $500,000 for pre-clinical or translational work for gastroesophageal cancer that will lead to a clinical trial within two years. This grant is intended to accelerate drug development and bring new therapies to patients quickly.

Key Details:

• Funding: Up to $500,000 over 2 years (15% indirect costs)

Eligibility:

• Applicants must be employed by a non-profit academic institution. Applications will be accepted from both U.S. and non-U.S. entities.
• No applications will be accepted from post-docs, or individuals without a faculty appointment.
• We encourage interdisciplinary collaborations and welcome proposals from independent investigators at all career stages, especially those new to the field of upper GI cancers.
