Proration of Financial Aid Funds

Content

Students who receive federal financial aid and do not complete at least 60 percent of the enrollment period for which they were charged are subject to a Return of Title IV funds calculation. The Office of Financial Aid performs this calculation to determine the amount of federal financial aid a student has earned based on the percentage of time remaining in the enrollment period.

If financial aid under the Federal Title IV program was issued to a student during the period of enrollment, any unearned aid will be returned to the lender in the following order:

  1. Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan Program
  2. Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan Program
  3. Any other Federal Title IV program
  4. Other federal, state, private or institutional sources
